Vera Manzi-Schacht is an Adjunct Professor at the New York Institute of
Technology - School of Architecture, Digital Art and Design Department -
where she teaches Art and Art History. She has been researching the influence
and images connected with the Irish in Italy for the past number of years –
predominantly focusing on Irish legends, saints, and images such as mermaids
and Sheela-n-Gigs, as found on Tuscan pievi.

Manzi-Schacht is also a sculptor who has received two residencies at the American Academy in Rome, the Residenza del Palmerino in Fiesole, Italy, and has exhibited at the Montclair Art Museum, Siracusa, Sicily, the Islip Art Museum, and the Denise Bibro Fine Arts Gallery in Chelsea, NY.
Vera lives in New York City with her husband and her beloved recused 16-
year-old Papillon.
